Having just gone digital (well, over the last 18 months) I'm finding that there's a certain amount of confusion (to understate the issue) about whether it's better to deliver RGB files or CMYK files to clients.

Some of the clients seem capable of dealing with RGB files (a few even know what Adobe RGB is and are using Photoshop 7), others demand that I supply CMYK files-but when asked about WHAT CMYK they want, they look at me with blank eyes and say "you known, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and K".

So far, giving RGB has caused a few, uh, problems (for those people still using Photoshop 5) and a couple of times when I've delivered CMYK files, my client's printers blame me for everything wrong in the final reproduction.

It's a pretty confusing situation. . .one that has cost me some time & money.

What should photographers be doing?
