AuthorSubject: Photoshop Monitor RGB   [Go to Bottom of Page]

My working space is set to AdobeRGB(1998). When I set View/Proof Colors to "monitor RGB," my eyes see colors and shading change. Not a huge shift. But more than a little bit. But the color numbers don't change. If I sample the same spot in each mode, the color numbers are identical. So I must be seeing the affect of "color space" on the displayed image.

Questions:
1) What's going on? Am I NOT using the monitor profile when working in AdobeRGB?

2) If the monitor space is more limiting than AdobeRGB, what am I seeing before changing view mode to monitorRGB?

3) Which is the better working space when you care about the printed output?

4) What happens to colors outside the monitor space but within Adobe space? *Are* they displayed...? How?

Now I know why you guys & gals get the big bucks.
