AuthorSubject: ACR conversion problem   [Go to Bottom of Page]

Link below directs you to a group of images. Images on left are 100% crops of a D60 CRW converted with ACR and on the right are cropped flatbed scans of a print of that file.

http://www.scrantonproject.com/2200/print_01/acr.htm

The print was made on a 2200 using a custom profile provided by Andrew on Epson Enhanced Matte. My apologies for the nasty images but they clearly show the problem Iím having with just a few files from time to time.

The raw image is a tough one Ė lighting, highish ISO all lead to a difficult, though useable file. The interesting thing is that other raw converters, particularly Capture One, show far less (none)of the posterization than Iím getting with ACR though they may show other anomalies of a somewhat similar nature in other tones in the file.

So Iím wondering if what Iím getting is attributable to operator error or if ACR may be to blame.
