So I see this product above: a LaCie "ethernet network" hard drive. What does it do that would make a 250gig drive worth a grand?

This question above falls under the heading, "What do you do with gigs and gigs of 1Ds files?" Right now, we've been buying two LaCie 120gig drives when we get a new big job. One for primary; the second for mirror backup, (but not RAID).

Then you get to the question of "when you've got two main Photoshop machines, what's the best way to serve out those files easily to two machines?" Should there be a "Master Mac" somewhere in the room, encircled by a bunch of FW drives, and somehow it can be set up as a server?

All I see now, in my workspace, are a bunch of AC adaptors, and about six miles of AC cord. I'm looking for a master plan, a master view approach, for the long term, with this 1Ds camera, and all the gigs that it creates.

Anyone have a suggestion or a grand plan, for either two or three workstations set up on a network?
