Hello. I set up an Artisan along with a new G4 for a photographer recently. The first thing I did, even before calibration was to set a neutral gray desktop. It was immediately apparent that there were subtle, vertical streaks about 2" apart across the entire display. Hoping it would just go away after warm-up and perhaps a couple of days of break in, I decided to deal with it at the end of setting up the system and after calibration. On the second day, after at least 2 hours of finishing the set-up, I calibrated the display. The streaks became more apparent with all of the black in the calibration routine. Making a black Photoshop document and hiding tools & menus causes the streaks to jump out at the viewer!

Color images appear OK, but grayscale images reveal the streaks. If this photographer did mostly color work I would let it go, but he does mostly grayscale work.

I have another client that bought an Artisan a few months ago, so I checked out his display. His viewing environment is not so good with much ambient light, but the streaks are on his display as well.

Have any other Artisan owners seen vertical streaks in the blacks?
