I am planning to purchase the eye one photo package. However, I want to make sure I'm not wasting money. I am planning to use this primarily for my personal use with canon 10d & canon i950 printer. I will also probably purchase an epson 2200 once I get up to speed with the present equipment.

I also own a professional catalog design & photo studio where we use gm profilemaker pro with an xrite dtp 92 & 41. These devices are about 4-5 years old and connect via serial port. One of my full-time staff is in charge of all color management activities and I generally don't get very involved in using the hardware/software.

So my questions are - does it make sense to purchase the i1 photo when I already have access to the other equipment mentioned above? Will it be easier and more convenient to use? If I purchase the i1 would the Colorthink 2 software offered on chromix site make a good learning tool?

thanks,

Allan
