I did a photo shoot, with 1D, elinchrom strobes, metered, RAW format for capture, etc. One gentleman was wearing a tweed jacket which produced a bad color moire pattern. I was able to remove it using the method in this link:

http://www.dbphoto.net/moire/indexpage.html

Removal was accomplished after conversion using either ACR or FVU. Both color and luminesence moire patterns were removed. I then cropped to 5 x 7 using the cropping tool set at 300 dpi, made some minor adjustments, including conversion to the paper profile, and it printed wonderfully on my Epson 2200.

I wanted to give the client a 4x5 proof and a 4x6 proof. Cropping to either of these sizes, and following the same workflow made prints which looked like they had a luminesence moire in the jacket. Viewing the image on the screen at 50 or 100% did not show this pattern.

I tried cropping to 8x10 (which produced fine prints) followed by changing the image size to 4x5 without resampling (get 600 dpi image), and this still produced the pattern in the print. I tried not using USM, and not converting to a the custom profile; neither helped.

I'm using Mac OS 9.x, PS 7.01.

I've haven't had this problem on any other prints with this printer. Any ideas???

Thanks
