I'm wondering why I can calibrate the LaCie electron 22 blue monitor at 1600x1200 @ 85Hz using system 9.2.2, but in OS 10.2.6, at the same resolution and MHz, it's not bright enough to meet the Black Luminance of .30 value at 1600x1200.

If I move to 1600x1200 at 75Hz in OS 10.2.6, I can meet the Black Luminace value of .30, but hate losing the extra 10Hz because I understand that it will cause more eye strain than the higher Hz setting). Will the lower Hz really make much difference? Or should I go to a lower resolution setting, gain back the 85Hz and lose the screen real estate?
