AuthorSubject: Cross Renderd Proof Question   [Go to Bottom of Page]

Greetings: I'm doing cross rendered soft proofs on an Espon 2200, PS7.
My files are RGB/tif

In the source space I've selected US Web coated (SWOP) v.2

In the print space I've selected the profile for the paper I'm printing on.

My question is about Intent. Is there a general rule as to which might
be a more "accurate" representation when compared to the RGB>CMYK
conversion is performed by the service bureau?

I'm under the impression that Relative or Absolute will be the best
choices. If Relative is used should black point be on or off?

Also, I've got ImagePrint 5.6 would this output be as "accurate" as a
PhotoShop cross rendered print?

In Color Management :

Bitmap tab:
Adobe 1998 profile and set to Apply

System tab:
Display- Eye1 Monitor calibration profile
Printer- I'm using the profile for my selected printing paper
ProoferI- US Web Coated SWOP v.2 (copied from PShop)
Proofer Intent- Relative (or Absolute which will be "better")
Again what should the Monitor Black Point slider should be set at?
I've left it at 50% so far for all the other printing I've done and it seemed
fine.

Thanks!
