AuthorSubject: Problems Connecting Titanium Laptop with Imacon Flextight Photo   [Go to Bottom of Page]

For some reason, I have run into problems getting my Imacon Flextight Photo Film Scanner connected and working properly with my Titanium G4 Laptop computer...Nowadays, I shoot exclusivly digital, so I actually haven't had the laptop and the scanner hooked up for quite some time (though I once did)...

...But every once in a while, I do reminise and go back to shooting film for a couple of days just to get a digital break. Anyway, I recently shot a couple rolls of film, and subsequently realized that I was unable to get my laptop and the scanner hooked up and working properly???

I am using the Adaptec 1480 Slim-SCSI PCMCIA card in my laptop, and have the laptop and Flextight Photo Scanner properly connected via an array of SCSI cables and whatnot, but for some reaon, upon starting the FlexColor software, the application defaults to the digital capture generic settings, which is what it would do if it doesn't recognize that there is a scanner connected to the computer...

Sorry if it seems like I'm rambling, but I just thought I'd try to be as specific as possible so that someone could perhaps come to my rescue and help me figure out what's going on here! I have researched various drivers for the Adaptec 1480 PCMCIA card only to have found that MS 10.2 and later has the proper driver built in...The PCMCIA card icon appears in my finder's toolbar across the top of the screen and recognizes that the adaptec 1480 card is inseted in the laptop, and that its turned on and functioning properly...and I am using a powered SCSI terminator for the Flextight Photo Scanner. WHY WON'T IT JUST WORK :(

More specifics...I am running OSX 10.2.8 on my Titanium G4 Laptop; I am using FlexColor 3.6.2...Not sure what else to say? If anyone out there has any ideas or suggestions that I might try to get this thing functioning properly, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
