What I'd like to do is to create a 4 point gradient mask to even out the lighting when doing copy work of paintings and such.

I'd like to be able to place a gray card at each corner for reference and have an easy way to even out the lighting in software.

Of course lighting evenly in the first place is the obvious solution but a software solution like this could be useful when one has long since abandoned the light meter in favor of the histogram on the back of the camera.

I think Phase One has a feature like this in some of their software where the user just clicks the four corners and the software evens out the lighting. This is also somewhat similar to what could be done with the 4 point gradient in Live Picture where one could type in percentage values for each corner.

Can I do this in Photoshop?

Thank you.
