I have a Kodak 14n and DCS 760 that I profile with MonacoDCColor. Recently Kodak released a new piece of software (Photodesk) that allows me to apply a form of a curve to all my raw images. So... I shoot a Macbeth, grey balance, adjust the curves to give me a good white and good black and my images look great processed out to Tiff with ProfotoRGB embedded. If I use Monaco to profile the scene and the images, they go back to being very flat, although color correct. My question... is there some benefit to having the pic in a custom color space generated by Monaco even though it does not have the proper contrast or color saturation or is it fine in ProfotoRGB as long as it looks good? Thanks.. I'm a color management moron.
