AuthorSubject: Nikon LS4000ED and Panther   [Go to Bottom of Page]
Shirley Sanderson
Posted on Fri Nov 14, 2003 3:26 PM I upgraded to Panther 10.3.1 yesterday, and everything seemed to be fine. However, this morning when I checked to see if my Nikon LS4000ED would work, I found that Nikon Scan could not see the scanner. I reinstalled the software, repaired permissions, tried different firewire ports, logged out and back in, restarted the computer, etc. but no luck. The scanner's firmware is the most recent version, 1.10, and the scanner software is likewise the most current version 3.1.4. Apple System Profiler DOES see the scanner as a firewire device. The computer is a G4 dp 500 with 1.5 GB RAM.

I then downloaded a demo of SilverFast AI, which is supposed to work with OSX10.3. It too failed to see the scanner, even though doublechecking with System Profiler shows that the device is present on the firewire bus.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Any solutions?

Shirley
