After reading Jeff’s PDF on the above subject available on his website I looked at the Photokit Color to B&W; Set. I assume that the Photokit Color to B&W; Set is based on the method described in Jeff’s PDF. Is that correct? In that case, how do you recommend converting color to B&W;: basically applying various color conversion in the Photokit Color to B&W; Set and playing with opacities until you get the best results?

Another question: Not yet having given up B&W; film, I’m scanning B&W; film on the FlexTight Precision II in RGB and then converting Grayscale in Photoshop, which is what Imacon recommends because they state that their Grayscale scanning algorithm is not that good. In converting an RGB scan of a B&W; film to Garyscale, will one also get better results by using the Photokit Color to B&W; Set than by using Channel Mixer?
