Iíve been lurking for a while and now I gotta confess my gamma confusion:

1) Can anyone supply (or point me to) a clear concise explanation of the difference between the Camera Raw linear file and the gamma encoded one. (non linear?)
2) I gather that ACR grabs the RAW linear file and has itís way with it. Is this a gamma correction? What does the exposure setting in ACR do to (or with) the gamma?
3) Once I have an exposure that I like in ACR and bring it into a monitor calibrated to gamma 2.2, working in Adobe RGB (also 2.2) (I gather the two are not related) can I assume that the gamma gremlin is gone?
