Not sure why, but for some reason Photoshop CS seems to be running pretty slow on my computer. I am running a G5 with 8GB of RAM, and I have setup Photoshop to use 90% of the available system RAM, and for some reason, it seems to be running much slower than Photoshop 7 did on this machine...anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be happening? Are there any new preference settings in CS that might be affecting the performance. What about the fact that I have enabled the preference to keep a detailed history log in the image metadata as well as in a text file? How about the cache settings? Would changing that from the default value of 4 to something else make any difference? What about the fact that my version of Photoshop CS is the upgrade, and it now seems that I have Photoshop CS and Photoshop 7 in my applications folder? Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
