AuthorSubject: Artisan Display & OSX Users problem   [Go to Bottom of Page]
Jeffrey Schmieg
Posted on Mon Dec 1, 2003 2:42 PM We've set up our new Artisan with on new G5 running OSX.2.8. On this machine we were planning on setting up the color management (Artisan Software) at the Admin level and then thought that those setting should carry through to other users that we set up down the line.

Right now everything work well at the Admin Level but when I login as a different user the Sony Artisan StartupX app doesn't act like it is working correctly....it pops up and dissapears real quick. When I launch the artsian program it tells me the display is not calibrated and if I look in the the monitors control the I have to manually select my profile and it won't show any artisan profiles that I have created. Under this user the Artsian software crashes if attempt to calibrate.

Does anyone know if the artisan system will share profiles through different users or does each user need to calibrate the system themself. Any tricks fro setting this up?

Thanks,

Jeff

P.S. Am I correct in understanding that D65 is the best (most widely used) white point to be running under for general photographic and prepress work? Why would one use D50?
