AuthorSubject: Artisan Monitor Calibration   [Go to Bottom of Page]
Gervaise Davis
Posted on Wed Dec 10, 2003 2:08 AM Occasionally my Artisan claims it is not calibrated when it starts up, even it was recalibrated just a few days before. I suddenly realized yesterday that in many cases this occurs when I change the resolution on it from very fine to less fine, or vice versa, because I am doing text work rather than photoshop.

Why is it necessary to recalibrate when you change resolution? This does not change the colors, only the number of pixels shown on the CRT and the screen image size increases or decreases, as far as I can tell. This does not make sense to me, yet it seems to be the case and yet the Sony manual never says anything about this.

Andrew can you answer this and also ask Sony why they don't tell people this will occur if you change the resolution ? It is not intuitively obvious to me, at least. Will you also tell them this is a fabulously good monitor but their manual on use of it sucks, and I have to depend totally on the advice you give here and normally cannot find the answers on their customer support site.
