I've been using an Eye-One Pro Spectrophotometer, less than one year old, with PM4.1.5 to create printer profiles for several months, with no problems. However, I just noticed that measuring the white patch (B25 on the i1 918 target) using Spot always results in a L value about 2 units less than measuring the same target with Scan. I've tried multiple printer targets, two different computers, fast/slow scan, move around the patch for the Spot reading, etc., and the results are always very consistent - If I read 96 for L with Scan, I'll read 94 for L with Spot. The a and b values aren't much different. I've been careful to keep the head flat on the paper, consistent surface underneath, etc.

My last customer wanted the profile to print slightly lighter, which I accomodated with ProfileEditor. I wrote it off to customer preference; however, now I'm wondering if I'm getting too high L values when scanning, and therefore slightly dark prints.

Other colors on the target show similarly, with dark patches running about 1.5 L values difference and lighter colors as much as 3 L values different, with the Scan values always greater. I ran the diagnostics, all passed. GM tech support is chasing the problem, but I thought maybe somebody in this forum has seen it before.
