I have profiled my Sony SDM-S91 19" monitor with the ColorVision
Syder and Optical software. I have 2 questions. I used standard
mode to calibrate and profile the monitor as the instructions
indicate. And I do it in the standard mode. The Optical program
creates the profile but, I don't see any calibration being done.
No adjustments. To run the program it requires that the monitor
is set to factory default settings which is 9300K light temp, 50%
brightness and contrast.

How am I going to see the proper colors on this monitor at 9300K? I
understand that 5000k and 6500k are the usual viewing ranges to
reflect daylight conditions. I have read where most monitor profiling
software requires one of these color temp settings and the brightness
and contrast to be the highest attainable for the monitor being
profiled. How can this monitor be calibrated when the test require
no adjustments to any of these settings?

Secondly, I am trying to get some clarity on how to use this profile
correctly with PS8. Should I use this profile for my working space, or
should I use the another color space and leave the profile Optical
created alone as it loads when I start W2K. I shoot with a Canon 10D
in raw mode and have been using C1 Pro 1.3 to import them.
When I print to my Epson 1280 printer the colors seem somewhat muted compared to what I see on the screen when I use the Optical profile as my color space.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
