Hi Andrew,

I'm preparing to print my test files and have read through your PDF a few times. I'm still uncertain about what to do because the settings I use to yield the best results (closest to the calibrated monitor) are unlike any of your examples in the instructions.

My system is Mac G4 on 10.3.2, printing from PSCS to an Epson 1280 using the latest printer driver V1.66. Specifically, I use softproofing>Custom>specific paper>perceptual>black point compensation checked. Then in the print driver I select Source Space>Proof SetUp and Print Space>Profile, which matches my softproofing setting. I set Color Management to No Color Adjustment. Doing this gets me pretty close.

Your instructions say to use Document as the Source Space and either Same As Source or Profile for the Print Space. In either case the prints that resulted were inferior to using Proof SetUp as the Source Space.

So, should I print the tests using my regular successful routine, which I assumed I would continue with, or should I switch to Document as the Source Space, as your examples show?

Thanks so much for shedding some light. I feel dim!

Deborah Davis
