(I’m trying this one again, I did not get a reply the first time....)

Not to seem like too much of a brown nose but I really like the PhotoKit products. I use PhotoKit for every submission, especially the Burn and Warming tools.

My question has to do with the Luminance sharpener options in PK Sharpening. In testing all the tools in the Capture Sharpening Module, I found I that the Luminance tools in the Creative Sharpening Module to work best for me at the Capture stage. The four strengths of the tools are great and for what I shoot and the way I shoot it (mostly people), the files at 100% view looked great and not as “sharpened” in appearance as with some of the other choices.

My understanding is it is always best to sharpen the files at final size. What if any will be the down side if I add a little Luminance sharpening before final sizing?. Most of my clients, editorial and corporate, want the files from me at full size from my 1Ds (I shoot RAW+jpg and convert mostly to 31 mb). They do their own size interpolation as needed in terms of crop and size on the page. Since they are designing around the images I hardly ever get a layout in advance.

Prior to PK Sharpener I’d just send them color and tone corrected images with no sharpening applied at all. However the Luminance tools do such as good job of just clearing up the digital fuzzies a bit, without any apparent artifact that I see, I’d really like to add it to the file at the pre-final-sizing stage as long as it won’t cause problems further downstream.

Thanks!
