Has anybody come across following problem: - ?

I run Mac OSX 10.2.8 and IP5.5 and PS-CS.

I configured IP under color management > bitmap > grey profile to "=none" and opened an untagged b/w photoshop file -> but it shows up "screwed up" on the IP work space (like doubled).
Only when I set the grey profile pop-up to gamma 1.8 or gamma 2.2 the same image loads OK.

Does that mean that IP always needs to assign either gamma 1.8 or 2.2? Sounds reasonable, but why is there then the "none" option?
--

Btw, I have chosen under color management > bitmap > embedded=prompt; I assume for opening tagged files and confirming that the embedded profile should be used, these other input profile choices under BITMAP are irrelevant. I assume only if I open untagged files that these choices are relevant and are used to decide which profile should be applied to the file. Maybe that's the reason why untagged files and grey profile=none can't work...
--

What I really want to do is to open an untagged b/w file, print it and compare the print visually to PS CS to develop an adjustment layer setting that allows me to simulate the IP printout in PS.

Thank You for your help!
Peter
