I am trying to run a filter on an image that 16bit, but this particular filter only works on an image that is 8bits...As a workaround, if I were to duplicate the 16bit image, flatten it, convert it to 8 bit, run the particular filter on it, then copy and paste it as a layer back onto the 16bit version...Does this make sense? If I do this, will any subsequent editing done on the image have the effect that it would on an 8bit image as opposed to a 16bit image? Please advise...Thanks!
